Jun 15, 2020 · Router randomly losing connection to the internet I have an issue happening on two of my routers different models and IOS versions. On two if the sites I administer, the ISP has presented an internet connection on Ethernet provided a public IP address for the router and a gateway address.

My guess is you have a separate modem and router, and there is some signal problem to the modem that is causing it to lose sync, which causes the router to lose connection to the modem. You would see this as the lights on the modem would drop or change somehow before your internet connection drops.
If you have Windows 10, it could be a software problem as a particular update is known to cause internet connection problems. Open the new Settings app (the cog icon on the start menu) and go to The router constantly drops the internet connection after a few minutes. When I then re-plug the ethernet cable from the modem directly to my iMac, the internet is immediately re-connected, so the problem is definitely with the router. A friend suggested it could have something to do with timing out or an IP address conflict.
Nov 15, 2009 · So here’s the deal. For the past week I have been having issues where the Spectrum modem keeps dropping the internet connection. At first, it was once or twice a day and the connection would drop for about 5 to 10 minutes before reconnecting. Starting yesterday the frequency increased, and this morning it was dropping about every 5-10 minutes.
