To avoid bricking, only use a trailed build (the file with the router name) for initial flash, and nv64k (or trailed) builds to upgrade! This Linksys E1200 router is exactly what I needed. It was affordable and compatible with the freely available Linux based dd-wrt firmware. My dd-wrt firmware upgrade has now made this bog standard product by Linksys become enterprise class with so many additional features. It a great product if you know how to use it!
